Gertruda Uścińska – Co-ordination of Social security systems. Contemporary challenges
The paper is dealing with issues having a direct impact on the actual state of affairs connected with the rule of the freedom of movement. The coordination of social security schemes is based on a rule of professional mobility of workers and other professionals. The change on the labor market, including the increased flexibility and changes in national legislations, are the true challenge for coordination regulations. Finally, the process of coordination is to be analyzed in a broader legal framework of community law, laws stemming from European Citizenship, and the freedom of movement law (Directive 2004/83). As the article shows, these are not fully compatible and this fact is causing a number of problems, both legal and social, for people trying to freely move from one EU Member Sate to another.

The purpose of the study was to determine selected aspects of work motivation of debutants on the labour market as well as to compare motivation levels in people in and without employment. The analysis was conducted with the use of C. Alderfer’s ERG Theory of motivation. There were no statistically significant differences in the levels of work motivation between the two groups studied. Both the participants in employment and the unemployed were likely to demonstrate high levels of work motivation. However, differences in intrapersonal motivational factors were noted. The motivation of the participants in work was influenced mainly by ambitions, whereas self-perception was found to be the most important factor for those out of work.
