SOCIAL POLICY NO 2/2007 (395), 2007 WE RECOMMEND THE PAPERS:
Józefa Orczyka- Dynamice of Services Sektor and Changing Latour Relations
The articles stress the importance of coordinating transformations in labor relations with the structure of work dynamics. Service sector’s role is growing, it’s structure becomes more complex, and it requires amendments to labor law and to social security system. Taking up work in some of the crucial service areas might be both difficult and risky, if those changes not take place. It becomes therefore, necessary to create institutional conditions for a greater work activity including the rule of reciprocity. This seems unachievable if the concurrent domination of employment-based social relations system which was worked out during industrialization period, remains.
Agaty Drabek- The Officials of Public Employment Services from the Quality and Quantity Views
The aim of this publication is to present the quality and quantity aspects of staff of labour force administration. The study in question is an attempt to analyze factors that determine an effective execution of tasks imposed on employment services. Among them are the following: the level of education of public employment services workers, their advanced training and the access to services rendered by them by means of assurance of the proper level of employment, particularly in case of such positions as employment adviser and employment exchange adviser. The analysis above is supported by the data of the recent five years. The author emphasizes that employing professional staff and providing common access to the labour administration officials are to be given priority by the authorities.
Agnieszki Lipińskiej-Grobelny - The Reports on Temporary Employment Agencie: 2003–2005
The cardinal purpose of this article is a review of temporary job recruitment companies’ activities on the basis of the Labour Market Department reports for 2003-2005. The results of these reports are very interesting if we take under consideration that temporary job recruitment companies have exist on the labour market for over
10 years, but the need of temporary employment has increased to a large extent especially during only the last two years. The authoress asks a question: if it relates with a stable tendency or not. On this question and on a few others she searches for answers in this article.
Grażyny Chorążykiewicz- Social Policy In Slovenia
The article covers selected aspects of social policy in Slovenia. Slovenia passed three-fold transition from a command to a market economy, from a regionally based to a national economy, and from a common state to setting up structures and programs of independent country. Slovene transformation could be divided into two stages: establishing a new state and process of accession to European Union. According to Eurostat (October 2006) Slovenia spent in 2003 24.6% of GDP (average for UE 25 was in 2003 28%) for social protection. More than UE countries it spent for families and children (8.6%, EU-25 8%), sickness/health care (32.4% in comparison to 28.3%) and disability (8.2% in comparison to 8%).
