Gertruda Uścińska - ADDITIONAL PENSION SCHEMES THE EU REGULATIONS. IMPLICATION FOR THE EUROPEAN COUNTRIES
The present article investigates the evolution and current legal framework of the EU regulations in the area of supplementary old-age pension schemes with a focus on the occupational old-age pension systems. On the one hand, the impact of the changes occuring in the national legislations of the EU Member States on those regulations is examined, on the other hand, conversely, the modifications made in national law with a view of implementing the EU regulations is discussed. This implementation, in fact, poses a number of difficulties. Some of them are subject to European Court of Justice case-law.
Bożena Kołaczek - ON THE MODEL OF SOCIAL POLICY AIMED AT DISABLED PEOPLE. THEORY AND POLISH PRACTICE
This article presents theoretical and pracitical models of social policy towards disabled people, elaborated in West so far and the proposals of new model's foundations. This proposed model is confrontating with social policy towards disabled people really functioning in Poland. The essential foundations of it are following: comprehensive, not fragmented but complete, not transitional but permament. This is based on both traditions of Poland's rehabilitation school and international social policy towards disability creating by United Nation, International Labor Organization, World Health Organization and European Union.
Anna Stypuła, Monika Brzyska, Beata Tobiasz-Adamczyk - PERCEPTION OF SERVICES FOR OLDER PEOPLE IN POLAND BY SERVICE-USERS AND SERVICE
The advancing ageing of Polish society along with transformations in the contemporary model of family cause the rise of demand for services supporting functioning of elderly people in their home environment. As part of the project "Improving Access to Community-Based Services for Older People Living at Home" there were organized two focus groups in order to examine the perception of health and social services directed to older persons by senior citizens and service-providers. The main reasons for using community-based services, the most common sources of information on services as well as the barriers and factors facilitating the using of the community-based services were identified.
Ewa Gałecka-Burdziak - UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS AND PROBABILITIES OF THE TRANSITION BETWEEN UNEMPLOYMENT AND EMPLOYMENT - ANALYSIS BASED ON THE LOGISTIC REGRESSION
Unemployment benefits are created to financially assist the unemployed while searching the job. The aim of this paper is the analysis of the selected determinants (among others: age, education, reservation wage, search effort) of the mentioned flow between unemployment and employment taking into account the influence of the unemployment benefits using Labour Force Survey data during the period 2007-2009. Analyzed period should constitute a relevant reference period taking into account changes in the size of the unemployment benefits introduced at 1st January, 2010.
Aneta Wiącek - HOMELESSNESS - INTERPRETATION OF STATISTICAL DATA
What do we know about homelessness in contemporary Poland? For a few years more and more research is carried out on the subject, currently available statistics has shortcomings of the data, but we can get a picture of social reality. In Poland is around 30 thousand homeless people in total, of which 20 thousands living in shelters for the homeless during the winter. Homeless people live mainly in highly urbanized regions. Territorial distribution, intensity of the aid offered and costs vary depending on the region. Unfortunately on average less than 1% of homeless population has succeeded in struggle with homelessness and achieved independency.
Anna Reda - NEW MODEL OF EMPLOYMENT IN JAPAN
Article is about employment patterns, which are changing rapidly, in Japan. The incidence of non-regular employment increased significantly in the majority of developed countries. In the case of Japan, the practice of lifetime employment is less popular. Instead, workers are increasingly employed on so-called non-regular jobs and temporary positions.
